Three things
Another storm is forcing this column to be written as quickly as possible in order to get the paper sent to the printer before a possible power outage. Fine with me ... almost lunchtime anyway. I would like to apologize to those who sent in press releases this week and don’t see them published in print. They are online so the public can find them there or wait until next week. Gotta love those mid-week storms.
This also gives me time to think about and fill out my March Madness bracket. My wife always says I over-analyze my picks. Perhaps I do because I think she’s done better than me two out of the past three years. Who do you like to win it all? My favorite team is Duke (my wife’s is North Carolina but we still get along!). The Blue Devils are playing well right now but there is always that burnout factor; trying to win six games to win the title is tough. Villanova, Kansas (always disappoints) and Gonzaga are to be considered to make the Final Four. I think I am going to include UCLA in my Final Four. OK, time to start filling it out. I will let you know how I did in a future column.
Kids, enjoy your snow days now. Who knows how late in June you’ll be going to school with all these snow days? And should I mention the April 8, 1982 storm that dropped nearly eight inches of snow? Winter isn’t done yet.
