Veggies to Table and “Eat Drink Lucky” team up on Tea Towel Fundraiser
Newcastle nonprofit Veggies to Table and daily newsletter “Eat Drink Lucky” are teaming up to bring you beautiful tea towels this spring, to benefit Veggies to Table.
“Eat Drink Lucky” (EDL) is a daily newsletter sharing ‘in the know’ tips on the best food, drink, and more in the Portland area – and beyond. They also sell Maine-made products, including a monthly tea towel subscription featuring designs all from Maine women artists. This year, they are donating 10% of proceeds from their “Spring” subscription to Veggies to Table.
This isn’t the first time Veggies to Table and EDL have partnered. Gillian Britt, EDL executive editor, told us, “Offering farm fresh, organic produce and beautiful flowers to people in need is a beautiful thing. I have included Veggies to Table in Eat Drink Lucky news over the years because I love the work they do, and the Artist Tea Towel Subscription, all made by Maine artists, is another way to support their great work.”
This subscription runs for three months (April, May, and June), with designs by Susan Delsandro Hellier (Zaz + Moe), Louisa Wickard (StudioDownhill), and Allison McKeen. All orders must be in by March 20. “These towels have such beautiful, unique designs. It felt like a real win-win to promote local artists while benefiting our programs,” said Anna Tracht, development coordinator at Veggies to Table.
Veggies to Table works towards ending local hunger by growing and donating top-quality organic produce and flowers to local folks experiencing hunger and needing joy. Everything Veggies to Table grows, they donate in collaboration with 35+ local partners, including food pantries, schools, summer lunch programs and hospitals— filling hungry stomachs and lifting spirits along the way.
You can sign up for the EDL Spring Tea Towel Subscription until March 20. Learn more about Veggies to Table at veggiestotable.org and subscribe to the tea towels at eatdrinklucky.com.
