Waldoboro Police investigating burglaries; resident chases suspect from home
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde announced in a new release that on Oct. 6, at approximately 6:10 a.m., officers responded to Reef Road for the report of a burglary in progress. It was reported to police that the homeowner woke up and found a male subject inside the residence.
The intruder gained entry into the residence through a window. Labombarde also said that the homeowner got out of bed, yelled at the subject and chased him out of residence.
After speaking with the homeowner, Officer Larry Hesseltine requested that a K-9 unit respond to the location. Deputy Kevin Dennison and the K-9 unit from Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search from the residence to a mobile home on Reed Lane, located at the end of Reef Road. Hesseltine and Dennison located a male subject, who matched the description provided by the homeowner, hiding in the shower inside the mobile home. The male was later identified as Kenneth T. Neild, 23, of Waldoboro.
Neild was arrested and charged with burglary and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
Officers also responded to two complaints of a burglary to a motor vehicle in the same area. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are likely, according to Labombarde.
