Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, must travel to Arrakis, the most dangerous and desert-like planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet's exclusive supply of Melange, a spice that extends life and expands mental abilities, it becomes clear that only those who can conquer their own fear will survive. Plays at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27 through Saturday, Oct. 30, Wednesday, Nov. 3, Thursday, Nov. 4; and at 2 Sunday, Oct. 31;
“North by Northwest” – Classic Film Series - (Rated PG-13, 2 hours 16 minutes) - Roger O Thornhill (Cary Grant) is a harmless and amiable advertising executive who is absurdly mistaken for a government agent by a gang of ruthless spies. Forced to go out on the lam, Thornhill lurches from one perilous scenario to another. Can he survive to prove his innocence? Is the gorgeous blonde (Eva Marie Saint) who is helping him really a friend? This is pure Hitchcock: a fusion of thrills, mystery, cheeky humor, and never-to-be forgotten scenes - the crop dusting airplane, a pursuit on Mount Rushmore, and a drunk car on a cliff sequence. ONE SHOW ONLY: Thursday, Nov. 4, 2 p.m.
“The Truffle Hunters” – (PG-13, 1 hour 24 minutes) - In Italian with English subtitles - Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw follow a group of determined old men, and their profoundly committed dogs, as they contend with their aging bodies and the vagaries of the wild to discover the most delicious, and priceless, truffles,, hidden deep within the forests of Piedmont, Italy.
