Wiscasset Police: Another busy week
The Wiscasset Police Dept. recorded the following incidents in its log for June 9-16, including 51 property checks among other services:
Alarm, burglar
Reserve Patrolman Michael Smith checked on an alarm going off at 3 Old Stage Road and secured the building.
Patrolman Perry Hatch checked on an alarm at 19 Washington Street, which he determined went off because of motion in the family room. Homeowner was advised all is OK.
Assist citizen
Chief Troy Cline arrested Christopher Allen Perkins, 30, Wiscasset, on a charge of Disorderly Conduct, Offensive Words, Gestures, Indecent Conduct, and Operating After Habitual Offender Revocation and Lorretta Sue Perkins, 31, Wiscasset, on a charge of Operating After Habitual Offender Revocation on West Alna Road The arrest followed a report from a caller complaining about neighbors shooting a gun and swearing at her, hearing vulgar language, the husband of the neighbor going onto the caller’s property with a pitchfork and making threats.
Patrolman Hatch investigated a report from a caller complaining about a possible scam on phone with name of a person whose phone is disconnected popping on caller ID.
Burglary
Reserve Patrolman Mark Walsh and Patrolman Hatch investigated a caller’s complaint about someone breaking into her home at 158 Mt. Hunger West and stealing several items, including money, cameras, and antique jewelry. Caller suspects the same person involved in a similar case Hatch is working on.
Criminal mischief
Reserve Patrolman James Read investigated a report from a caller who stated someone attempted to break into a vehicle on his property on Bath Road.
Disabled motor vehicle
Sgt. Kathy Williams arrested Paul L. Mellyn, 54, Newscastle, on a charge of operating under the influence in connection with a vehicle disabled on Bath Road near Taste of Orient.
Escort/transport
Chief Cline rendered services following a report from a caller on Birch Point Road about her son’s wife making threats and requesting an escort to retrieve her belongings from their house. Subject has been warned for disorderly conduct for antagonizing resident.
Fire alarm
Chief Cline checked on an alarm going off at Twin City Lock & Key on Bath Road, which turned out to be a faulty alarm.
Harassment
Reserve Patrolman Donald Smith investigated a complaint from a caller at 142 West Alna Road reporting his daughter’s old boyfriend was parked in the neighbor’s driveway during the night and went to his daughter’s bedroom window. Subject does not know how to locate the other party. Police advised will increase patrol to try to locate the accused.
Loud noise
Reserve Patrolman Alfred Simmons restored peace after checking on a call from Foye Road about music playing loudly coming from a live band. The band was shut down for the evening.
Medical emergency
Sgt. Williams responded to a call concerning a male, 90, at 20 Hooper Street Subject, who fell, resulting in a head injury. He was transported to Mid Coast Hospital.
Missing person
Chief Cline investigated a report of a missing person from a caller about her daughter.
Patrolmen Simmons, Michael Smith, and Donald Smith located juveniles reported missing from Wiscasset Speedway. No action was required.
Motor vehicle accident
Patrolman Michael Smith investigated a four-car accident on Bath Road near Wiscasset Auto Parts.
Patrolman Hatch investigated a two-car accident on Bath Road at Oxhorn Road Police.

Chief Cline issued a warning for speed on Gardiner Road near Wiscasset Community Center; issued a citation for speed on Gardiner Road near Coastal Electronics; issued a warning for inspection on Bath Road near North of the Border; issued a citation for seatbelt violation and warning for registration; issued a citation for seatbelt violation on Middle Street at Main Street; issued a citation for seatbelt violation on Middle Street at Main Street; and issued a citation for seatbelt violation on Gardiner Road near Wiscasset Newspaper office.
Patrolman Simmons issued a warning for speed on Gardiner Road near Wiscasset High School; issued a warning for speed on Gardiner Road at Huntoon Hill Road; issued a warning for defect on Gardiner Road at Huntoon Hill Road.
Sgt. Williams issued a warning for a stop sign violation on Bath Road; issued a warning for speed on Main Street near the bridge; and issued a warning for stop sign violation on Bath Road near police dept.
Chief Cline issued a summons for inspection on Gardiner Road; issued a warning for imprudent speed and defective tail light on Gardiner Road near Coastal Electronics; issued a summons for inspection on Federal Street; and issued a warning for following too close and inspection.
Patrolman Simmons issued a warning for stop sign on Main Street.
Patrolman Hatch issued a citation for inspection on Birch Point Road; issued a citation for inspection on Old Ferry Road; issued a citation for insurance and studded tires on Birch Point Road; issued a citation for inspection on Birch Point Road; issued a warning for exhaust on Old Ferry Road.
Patrolman Donald Smith issued a warning for stop sign on Middle Street at Main Street; issued a warning for stop sign on Main Street at Churchill Street; and issued a warning for no taillights on Main Street at Middle Street.
Police information
Patrolman Read investigated a report of gunfire from Ward Brook Apartments area, which Read discovered to be unfounded.
Suspicious activity
Sgt. Williams investigated activity at the waterfront on Water Street and found subjects talking and starting to leave.
Patrolman Donald Smith checked on a call about a small black sedan on Bath Road at Wiscasset Clipper Mart reporting a female tried to buy alcohol, which caller refused her but thought she was acting suspicious. Smith removed subjects from the property.
Patrolman Smith investigated a call about a blue Chevy Cavalier parked by his house and suspecting persons may have gone into caller’s shed on Mountain Road.
Patrolman Simmons investigated a report from a caller at Deer Ridge Farm Apartments on Deer Ridge Road abut possibly five gunshots outside from the north side of the building and then a couple of minutes later three shots.
Violation of protective order
Patrolman Hatch investigated a caller’s complaint at 72 Federal Street about his mother against whom he has a protection order, who reportedly threw a bunch of stuff onto the driveway. Then the caller complained that his mother returned.
Warrant arrest
Chief Cline issued a warrant arrest of Jeffrey Keith Connors, 23, Wiscasset, on Lowelltown Road.
