Considering the office you are running for, what do you feel are the three most pressing issues (350 words or less): The three most pressing issues we are currently facing are relocating our wastewater treatment plant, holding Maine Yankee accountable for a fair property value assessment, and the future of our schools. Time is dwindling before we must decide on how to move forward with our WWT plant. Relocating out of the flood zone is the only way to receive our full grant potential.

Twenty years later, Wiscasset is still home to Maine Yankee’s nuclear waste. They are 1 of 23 decommissioned sites nationally that are allowed to use their property as a waste storage site. There is inherent value for Wiscasset to allow this. The board has been determined to seek a fair assessment and will continue to do so.

The schools have become a point of animosity over the last year. We need to take a hard look at not only the budget, but what’s best for our students. There is talk of tuitioning high school students out, but will that really save money as intended, is that really our goal? How would it work, are other schools able to take our students? – We need answers.

Any other thoughts on why you are running or what you can bring to the office? 150 words or less: I was grateful to be elected for my first term on the selectboard two years ago. The learning curve is over now, and I would like to continue the work from my previous term with the aforementioned issues or any new issues that may arise. Living in Wiscasset my entire life brings a valuable asset to the board. If elected again, I will continue to make decisions in the best interests of Wiscasset’s future.
