Chair Feldenkrais begins Aug. 2
Do you wish you had the ability to move better, or move with less pain and discomfort? Would you like to improve your walking, balance, flexibility and posture? If so, Chair Feldenkrais classes are for you.
Feldenkrais is a type of neuromuscular education that gradually, over time, teaches your body how to move with more ease and comfort. You will experience it as a series of gentle movement sequences that are different each time you come to class, so you will be constantly intrigued by the variety of movements your body has the potential to perform. During each class you will either be seated in a chair or standing while holding onto a chair.
Leading the classes will be Dianne Daniels, MA, an exercise physiologist and Feldenkrais practitioner, who has been teaching this method since 2005 and who has witnessed some remarkable life changes in her students over the years. For example, one former student marveled that, “I can do things now I haven’t been able to do in years.” Another, a woman is her 60s, couldn’t believe her transformation. “I could barely walk a block when I started Feldenkrais. But last weekend I was able to walk all over Disney World with my grandchildren.”
The introductory rate for the five Thursday classes in August is $25. The classes run from 2-2:45 pm. For those who cannot make all the classes but would like to walk-in and try Feldenkrais, the fee is $10.
The classes will be held in the Wellness/Rehab Conference Room in the Lincoln Health Urgent Care Building, 6 St. Andrews Lane, Boothbay Harbor.
Space is limited, so it is suggested you reserve your spot and sign up by calling 633-1928.
