Grace R. Morgan
Grace R. Morgan, 73, of Farmingdale died Sept. 4, 2018 following a brief illness. She was lovingly surrounded by family.
Grace was born Dec. 2, 1944 in San Mateo, California as the daughter of the late Augustus "Gus" and Phyllis Richards.
Grace loved learning. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education at Indiana University, and later followed her passion of helping others with a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Southern Maine.
Her career as an educator spanned over 20 years at several schools in New England, including the Prescott Memorial School in Washington, Maine. She went on to become a school nurse at Rockport Elementary School, and found additional joy in advancing the health education in all Maine schools with the Maine Department of Education.
Grace loved nature, and kayaking around Boothbay was one of her favorite pastimes.
Those fortunate enough to have a "Grace Tour" at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens would be treated to an informative and practical experience as she shared her love for this natural habitat.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Sarah R. Allarie, her husband Steve, and their son Connor, all of Winthrop; a cousin, Joan Davis of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and a host of friends nationwide.
A private celebration of Grace's Life will be held at a later date.
Donations in Grace's memory may be made to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, Maine.
Arrangements are under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME.
