Set an example
Vote Tuesday. And if you get one of those stickers saying you voted, wear it. You might remind others to vote and, just as importantly, you will be showing you cared enough to vote, you are not discouraged about the state of things or weary from the campaign season, and you are thankful for others' sacrifices that we might all be able to vote.
The results election night might go your way. Or, if you are like me historically, probably not. But that has never discouraged me from voting. Each person's vote is important, whoever or whatever they support.
The region has multiple contests and other ballot items on issues we have been reporting for months. As always, we plan to get you the results as we get them, sharing them at wiscassetnewspaper.com, on our Facebook page and, in fewer instances, maybe also via our free, breaking news emails. Sign up on our website, anytime. We make a point not to inundate you with those.
Happy Election Day, Nov. 6. The act of making a decision together, without the threat or fear of violence some nations even now still experience when they vote, is something to celebrate, every time.
