Call to Artists: For the ‘Black & White’ juried show
Artists may submit up to three works for jurying into the annual Black & White Exhibition at River Arts. The entry fee is $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers. The deadline for entry is Saturday, January 5 at 4 pm. Artists will be notified by email or phone of the juror’s decision. Entry forms are available online at riverartsme.org and at the gallery, at 241 U.S. Route 1 in Damariscotta, when submitting. The opening reception for the Black & White show is scheduled for January 11 from 5-7 pm.
The juror for the show will be Diana Kerr. Diana grew up in Massachusetts and spent her summers on the coast of Maine. After spending years in Boston managing an art gallery and overseeing the corporate art program, she moved permanently back to Maine. She continued her interests in art where she managed the contemporary gallery at Barridoff galleries in Portland. Her experience in gallery work continued as an art consultant at the Gallery House in Nobleboro, in 1991, followed by eight years as a curator and co -manager of the Firehouse Gallery in Damariscotta.
For the past nine years, Diana has been the administrative assistant to the director of Gleason Fine Arts in Boothbay Harbor, directing the sales of contemporary art. With over 40 years experience in curating and administration of sales in several art galleries, In addition to her gallery posts, Diana is currently a partner in a business, Kerr/Jones Design, designing and selling unique creations.
