Diabetes Support Group meeting Jan. 24
LincolnHealth Occupational Therapist Leah Taylor will discuss how diabetes impacts circulation in the legs at the Diabetes Support Group meeting on Thursday, Jan. 24 from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. The group will meet in the Diabetes Education Room on the third floor of the hospital on the LincolnHealth - Miles Campus in Damariscotta.
People attending the support group will come away with information concerning the connection between diabetes and swelling of the legs and feet, diabetes medications that may cause increased swelling, symptoms to look for, and a number of ways to address the swelling including lymphedema treatment at LincolnHealth.
The LincolnHealth Diabetes Support Group meets every other month on the fourth Thursday to allow participants to share experiences and to know that they do not have to deal with diabetes alone.
The LincolnHealth Diabetes and Nutrition Program provides a range of services to diabetes patients and their families. The program has been accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators for the provision of quality services. For more information, call Diabetes Program Coordinator Patricia Brewer, RN diabetes educator, at 207-563-4518.
