The Dec. 7, 2018 edition of Boston Magazine included a list of the “15 Best Restaurant Bathrooms in Boston” and on that list was the sink at Eventide Fenway created by Alison Evans of Ae Ceramics in Boothbay Harbor.

Writer Jacqueline Cain wrote the following about the Eventide Fenway restroom: “We just love the gorgeous shell sink at this counter-service re-imagining of Maine gem Eventide Oyster Co. Like she did for the bathrooms at the Portland original, ceramicist Alison Evans of Boothbay created this pearly washbowl.”

The Eventide Fenway basin was the third Evans created for Big Tree Hospitality. Big Tree is the group behind Eventide Fenway and Eventide Oyster Co. - as well as The Honey Paw and Hugo’s, both in Portland. BTW, Evans also created the dinnerware at Hugo’s, stunning and smooth as river rocks (the concept for the collection).

Evans learned about the Boston Magazine article when she received an email from her sister Liz Evans of East Boothbay, which included a link to the article.

“It’s cool.  It’s very cool,” Alison said about the Top 15 list. “They asked for a razor clam sink for the new Boston location ... (laughs) and I had to install shelves at a 45 degree angle to fire it in my kiln,” said Evans.

The first sink, an oyster shell, was made for Eventide Oyster Co. on Middle Street in Portland, and later, after the addition of a second bathroom, Big Tree requested  a clam shell sink.
