Stable Gallery opens its doors for 2019
Saturday, May 11 is the Opening Day of the 2019 season for Stable Gallery in Damariscotta. Known for its high quality, Maine based fine arts and crafts, Stable Gallery presents five different displays throughout the season.
Based in a former stable, the gallery displays clay objects, wooden trays and furniture, jewelry, paintings and sculpture within a main room and four ancillary rooms. Those artists featured for the month have their work displayed in the main room. The other participating artists have works displayed in the adjoining rooms.
A monthly reception honors the featured artists. For 2019, all receptions will be the third Friday of the month, from 5-7 p.m. Artists attend and are happy to discuss their work. Friday. May 17 is the first reception. Refreshments will be served.
Thirty-seven artists display their work at the gallery. Sixteen of the artists are painters, five work with fiber, two work with glass, two create jewelry, four create wooden furniture or boxes, four sculptors work in various media including ceramics, stone, concrete and metal. And there are five new artists coming season. Come see what has been created over the winter.
Stable Gallery, 28 Water Street, is open daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
