The genius of Monet on the big screen
A journey through the masterpieces and obsessions of the founder of Impressionism, “Water Lilies of Monet – The Magic of Water and Light,” comes to Damariscotta’s Lincoln Theater for two screenings: Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m. and Friday, May 24 at 2 p.m. Produced by Ballandi Arts and Nexo Digital, “Water Lilies of Monet” tells the story of the origin of a massive work of art that broke with convention and the artist who resurrected his life with only thanks to painting.
His human endeavor defied both space and conventions in his timeless masterpieces.
“Water Lilies of Monet” takes us on a journey down the River Seine, from Le Havre to Paris and then up the river towards Argenteuil, Poissy, Vétheuil, Giverny – ending in Paris. An in-depth tour providing a unique and exclusive look into the Museums displaying Monet’s masterpieces: the Orangerie Museum, the Marmottan Museum, and the Orsay Museum, ending in Monet’s house and gardens at Giverny where his fascination for water lilies was born. Featuring the invaluable contribution of Ross King, author of the best seller “Mad Enchantment: Claude Monet and the Painting of the Water Lilies”.
