Gail M. Andretta
Gail Marie (Grover) Andretta, 58, of Wiscasset, Maine, passed away while surrounded by loved ones after a long fought battle with lung cancer. She passed on June 11 at 10:58 a.m. in Brunswick, Maine, at the Bodwell House.
She was born Sept. 16, 1960 in Boothbay Harbor to Elaine (Merrill) Grover and Earnest “Buster” Grover. She attended Wiscasset schools and worked at Health Text, Bath Iron Works, and L.L. Bean.
She enjoyed traveling with a special group of girlfriends, hosting holidays and birthday gatherings. Nothing was more important to her than her family and close friends. She was a dedicated mother, friend, and hard worker. She raised a family in a loving and nurturing environment, and was always known for her “open door policy.” She was known for her smile, sense of humor, caring and loving personality, and her no-nonsense, honest-to-a-T tough attitude she inherited from her father, Buster Grover. She’d make everyone feel like family with her most commonly used phrases, “hon,” “love,” and “baby.” We will always carry her spirit with us in our hearts and pieces of her will remain within us all. She was the kind of person whose presence in a room could be felt, heard, and appreciated without her having to speak a word. She was a well-respected, well-known, and well-loved member of our community. Her family will miss her very much.
She leaves us with so many loving memories of her and our family to remember and smile about. Camping at Lake Pemaquid every year. Family trips to theme parks and resorts in Florida, Massachusetts, California, and Mexico, as well as day trips to anywhere us kids wanted to go. These times we spent as family will be both cherished moments and guidelines as to how a loving family and household should be.
She is survived by her sons, Heath Edward Peaslee (Brunswick), John Andretta Jr. (Wiscasset), Michael Angelo Andretta (Wiscasset) and James Vincent Andretta (Wiscasset); her grandchildren, Tyler Peaslee, Noah Peaslee, Olivia Peaslee, Branden Peaslee and Adrianna Andretta; her mother, Elaine Grover; and her brother, Daniel Grover.
She was predeceased by her father, Buster Grover.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wiscasset Community Center on Saturday, June 22 from 3 to 7 p.m.
Gail’s family would like to include a special thank you to her friends and family, and our community for providing support and encouragement though a very difficult time. She will always be missed, and forever loved.
