Sara’s Scholarship winners announced
Wiscasset Middle High School students Lily Yeaton and Adam Giles are this year’s Teens To Trails Sara’s Scholarship recipients. The two incoming juniors will be participating in Camp Chewonki Appalachian Trail Wilderness Trips this summer.
“Lily and Adam both selected Appalachian Trail hikes as their top trip choice,” said Ralph Keyes, Wiscasset High School Outing Club co-advisor. “They will start their trip in Monson, and walk through the 100-Mile Wilderness to the summit of Katahdin. Both kids are members of our outing club. This will be a great chance for them to challenge themselves on an extended hike, to make some new friends, and to see a spectacular part of Maine.”
Teens To Trails and Chewonki have partnered since 2009 to offer Sara's Scholarship to two Wiscasset High School teens each year in memory of Sara Leone. Sara inspired the creation of this scholarship program which is administered by Teens To Trails. This full scholarship is made possible by the heartfelt donations of Sara's many friends and family and a committed partnership between Teens To Trails and Chewonki.
Donations to keep Sara's Scholarship going can be mailed to Teens To Trails at 98 Maine Street, Brunswick, ME 04011, or at teenstotrails.org
