Abstractions show extended to Aug. 10
An outstanding collection of contemporary abstract art by seven Maine artists can be viewed through the second Saturday in August at the Maine Art Gallery. The exhibit, curated by Elaine Pew, shows brilliantly in the fine exhibit space that the gallery offers in the old Academy building on Warren Street in Wiscasset
Pew has brought together lyrical abstract paintings by Marjorie Arnett, aluminum relief sculptures by Peter Bennett, welded sculptures by Susan Bennet, exquisite geometric renderings by Michele Caron, acrylic panels by Stew Henderson, rustic spheres by Jay Sawyer, and bold, rhythmic abstract paintings by Abby Shahn.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday at 15 Warren Street, Wiscasset.
