Alna’s Juniper Hill School wins grant
Thanks to the generosity of the Quimby Family Foundation (QFF), Juniper Hill School for Place-Based Education in Alna is a step closer to its mission. As the grantors put it: “Juniper Hill School was selected to receive funding because (it shares) with QFF a vision to grow more meaningful, reciprocal relationships with nature. We are inspired by your approach to human wholeness and your efforts to foster stronger relationships between people and the farms, woods, and waters of Maine.”
The funding is to be used to support Juniper Hill’s full-time professional development trainings in place-based education for educators, health care and social service providers, enabling Juniper Hill to bring a more dedicated focus to its mission of outreach and integration of its benefits into the curricula of all children while maintaining rigor at the school.
