Sandy River Ramblers in concert at the WW&F
This Saturday, Aug. 24 one of Maine’s own bluegrass bands, the Sandy River Ramblers, will play a concert at the Alna Center station of the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway (WW&F).
The backdrop for the concert are the beautiful fields on the Albee Farm adjacent to Alna Center station. The concert will be held rain or shine underneath a large tent with the Museum’s classic 1930 Ford AA truck serving as the stage. The Rambler’s energetic bluegrass features the songwriting talent of member Stan Keach front and center, along with many songs celebrating Maine’s natural and cultural history.
Seating is provided, but you can also bring a blanket to sit out in the large mowed field around the tent. In addition to the music, food will be available on-site from the Alna General Store. You may also bring your own beverages to enjoy responsibly. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.
Trains for Saturday’s concert leave from Sheepscot station (97 Cross Road, Alna) for Alna Center at 5 p.m. and return around 7:30 p.m. Parking and round-trip train fare are included in the price of the ticket. Tickets are available in advance at wwfrytickets.simpletix.com and at Sheepscot Station the day of the concert. Sales are limited to 100 tickets per concert, so get your tickets soon.
