CTL students win Scholastic writing awards
The Northeast Region of the Scholastic Writing Competition has named three eighth-grade students from Edgecomb’s Center for Teaching and Learning as recipients of its 2020 awards for excellence in writing.
Eighth grader Aelia Russell of East Boothbay received the regional competition’s highest honor, a Gold Key, for her poetry. Her work will be submitted for judging at the national level. Russell also received a Silver Key for her personal essay. Honorable mentions were awarded to Owen Hill of Woolwich and Jackson Ross of Boothbay Harbor, both for their poetry.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are the gold standard for recognizing the creative achievements of U.S. students in grades 7-12.
