Castlebay concert cancelled
Because Governor Mills has extended Maine's state of civil emergency due to COVID-19 through Sept. 3, the Friends of Colonial Pemaquid (FOCP), regretfully announces the cancellation of its Castlebay end of the season concert scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29.
The other events we had planned for this summer were also not held because of the pandemic and the fact that there were too many variables that could easily put the health of the public at risk, including the 6-foot social distancing requirement as well as restrictions on group size.
“As we all slowly emerge from the imposed hibernation that has recently shaped our lives, the last thing we want to do is undermine whatever progress we have made in containing COVID 19 by extending its current life because of imprudent decisions,” said Don Loprieno, Friends of Colonial Pemaquid president. “We thank all of our supporters for their membership and ongoing interest in our educational programs as well as for their patience and understanding during these difficult times.”
FOCP is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site’s historical significance through the development and sponsorship of educational programs.
