Committee tables vote on proposed school policy changes
The Edgecomb School Committee is taking a little extra time before deciding whether to make five policy changes. Edgecomb and other Alternative Organizational Structure 98 school boards are reviewing and updating policies to comply with state regulations. On Dec. 13, the three-person Edgecomb School Committee voted to table proposed language changes to conflict of interest, nepotism, board relationship with staff, workplace bullying, and child finding policies.
Superintendent Bob Kahler reported the committee wanted “to take some extra time and receive feedback” on the proposed changes. Kahler expects the committee to vote after the holiday break.
The committee hired a new educational technician III. Ruth Thyen began her new job Dec. 4, according to Kahler.
The committee meets next at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21 to discuss a personnel manner during an executive session.
