This week at Lincoln Theater
In 1922 one film changed cinema and defined screen terror ...
“Nosferatu” – 100th Anniversary (1922; 1 hour, 5 minutes) - In this highly influential silent horror film, the mysterious Count Orlok (Max Schreck) summons Thomas Hutter (Gustav von Wangenheim) to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains. After Orlok reveals his vampire nature, Hutter struggles to escape the castle, knowing that Ellen is in grave danger. Skidompha librarians will be presenting a talk back following the 2 p.m. showing of Nosferatu, discussing the differences between Dracula and Nosferatu as well as some of the history of the film’s controversial production. Playing for two screenings only – Thursday, Nov. 10 at 2 and 7 p.m.
“Halfway There” – Live and fully staged by Lincoln County Community Theater (LCCT) -Directed by John Mulcahy, with Mallory Adams, Soren Barker, Carole Florman, Nanette Hennig Fraser and Jennifer True. Welcome to Rangeley, Maine, a small town halfway between the North Pole and the equator, where not much changes from day to day for its small population of just over 1,000. Janine, a waitress at the local diner, is joined for a late afternoon coffee, every day at the close of her shift, by her closest friends, Vi, Rita, and Mary Ellen. When Sean, a heartbroken doctor, moves to town, the four friends start to wonder – have they found everything they’re looking for in Rangeley? As relationships develop and secrets are revealed, this heartwarming comedy proves we can all get by with a little help from our friends.
