We at Harbor Theater want to know what you think about the movies you see here. We depend a great deal on the words of well-known and nationally respected critics when we publish information about upcoming movies. But just because someone in Los Angeles liked (or didn’t like) a particular movie, doesn’t mean that our local audience will feel the same way about it.

For instance, our most-attended movie this past year was “Where the Crawdads Sing,” which most people agreed was well worth seeing. It did well nationally also, but the big box office winner around the country was |”Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which practically no one in Boothbay Harbor came to see at the theater. Was that because no one here really wants to see blockbusters, or because Marvel Comics are just not that interesting to our audience, or because they didn’t hear from anyone they knew whether it was worth seeing? Word of mouth exerts a big influence on which movies are successful for us!

We are inviting all our audience members to participate in reviewing movies! You can submit a movie review via email to info@boothbaycinema.org or by posting directly onto our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/boothbaycinema). When you have submitted reviews of three movies you have seen at Harbor Theater, we will award you a free pass to any upcoming movie. (We reserve the right to withhold or withdraw any review that contains inappropriate or offensive language.) If you decide you like the gig, and want to do it regularly, we will be happy to work with you to become a regular reviewer with an ongoing free pass.

We would love to hear from as many different community members as possible! Every age, gender, ethnicity, and background included! And, you do not have to commit to doing regular reviews.
