Art show at Sheepscot Valley Children’s House June 1
Sheepscot Valley Children’s House is hosting its Spring Art Show on Thursday, June 1 from 3 to 5 p.m. up the spiral staircase at the school, at 127 Federal St. in Wiscasset. The show features projects by pre-K and kindergarten classes in a variety of media.
Students began the year joyfully creating penguins, making shell drawings and clay impressions, and sculpting fruits and vegetables, moving through the weeks of increasing sunlight and warmth to butterfly and flower collages and painted birdhouses and bird studies as the season progressed. Come and see what these talented little hands have produced with the guidance and inspiration of their art teacher, Jefferson Cotton.
Sheepscot Valley Children’s House, founded in 1983, is a Montessori-based private school for children between the ages of 12 months and 7 years. Overlooking the Sheepscot River, the school welcomes children to learning – about themselves, other people, the arts, nature and the world.
