Jailhouse Rock! event at Old Jail June 24
Lincoln County Historical Association invites the community to an early evening of music and family fun on the grounds of the Old Jail on Federal Street in Wiscasset. Jailhouse Rock! begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 24, rain or shine.
The “yard” of the Old Jail will come alive with rock ’n roll music by Gary Lawless and his band, Leopard Girls. Bring a picnic and a blanket or lawn chairs. Cookout classics will also be offered, including hot dogs or veggie burgers, fruit, chips and water for a nominal fee. Pre-registration is requested. Admission is $5 for adults; kids free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets may be bought at www.lincolncountyhistory.org
Lawless has dug deep into his repertoire for jailhouse tunes, but most of the hits of the ’60s will surely be included. There will be lawn games for all ages, and a chance to meet new neighbors.
LCHA is a non-profit organization that provides stewardship for the 1754 Chapman-Hall House in Damariscotta, the 1761 Pownalborough Court House in Dresden, and the 1811 Old Jail and Museum in Wiscasset.
