“Past Lives” -  (PG-13; 1 hour, 46 minutes - In English and Korean) - Nora and Hae Sung, two deeply connected childhood friends, are wrest apart after Nora’s family emigrates from South Korea. Two decades later, they are reunited in New York for one fateful week as they confront notions of destiny, love, and the choices that make a life, in this heartrending modern romance. “The Miracle Club” -  (PG-13; 1 hour, 31 minutes) -  Set in 1967. A heartwarming film that follows the story of three generations of close friends, Lily (Maggie Smith), Eileen (Kathy Bates), and Dolly (Agnes O’Casey) of Ballygar, a hard-knocks community in Dublin, who have one tantalizing dream: to win a pilgrimage to the sacred French town of Lourdes, that place of miracles that draws millions of visitors each year. When the chance to win presents itself, the women seize it. However, just before their trip, their old friend Chrissie (Laura Linney) arrives in Ballygar for her mother’s funeral, dampening their good mood and well-laid plans. The women secure tickets and set out on the journey that they hope will change their lives, with Chrissie, a skeptical traveler, joining in place of her mother. The glamor and sophistication of Chrissie, who has just returned from a nearly 40-year exile in the United States, are not her only distancing traits. Old wounds are reopened along the way, forcing the women to confront their pasts even as they travel in search of a miracle. Their shared traumas can only be healed by the curative power of love and friendship. Y Arts presents: “The Aristocats KIDS” -  Y Arts is back with their second summer camp production of 2023. Join 45 Y Arts youth performers who put this show together in one week! Everybody wants to be a cat in Disney’s stage adaptation of the animated classic motion picture. In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens. Laughs and adventure ensue as the greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper. Now it’s up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O’Malley, and his band of swingin’ jazz cats to save the day. One performance only, Friday, July 28 at 5 p.m. Tickets: General admission $5.

“How to Train Your Dragon” - (PG; 1 hour, 38 minutes) - Free! -  In conjunction with Skidompha Library and The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) summer reading program – All Together Now – we invite you to join us for this free family friendly event. Hiccup is a Norse teenager from the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. His progressive views and weird sense of humor make him a misfit, despite the fact that his father is chief of the clan. Tossed into dragon-fighting school, he endeavors to prove himself as a true Viking, but when he befriends an injured dragon he names Toothless, he has the chance to plot a new course for his people’s future. Together they fight against the odds to save both their worlds in this wonderful, feel-good hit. Playing Sunday, July 30 at 2 p.m.

Talking Aquaculture in Maine: Damariscotta River: The Oyster Capitol of Maine -  A free series of conversations with innovators making a substantial contribution to aquaculture in the state of Maine. Join Damariscotta resident, and Island Institute Director of the Center for Marine economy, Sam Belknap as he takes you on a journey through the river’s environmental and cultural history with special guests Sarah Gladu of Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust, Jeff “Smokey” McKeen of Pemaquid Oyster Company, and Brendan Parsons of Shuck Station and Blackstone Point Oysters. Thursday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m.  Presented in partnership with Island Institute and Shuck Station.
