Capital City Improv bringing on-the-spot comedy to the Waldo
The Waldo welcomes Capital City Improv for a night of fun and laughter on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 8 p.m. Using audience suggestions and interviews, Capital City Improv creates unique, on-the-spot comedy shows that live for one night only!
Dennis Price, founder of Capital City Improv, studied and performed improvisation in Chicago with The Second City and IO Theater (formerly ImprovOlympic). While performing with IO house team Honeyslide, Dennis watched and worked with some of the best improvisers in Chicago. He’ll be joined at The Waldo by Julie Poulin, Jen Shepard, and the music of Larrance Fingerhut.
“Many of our growing Waldo audience have asked for Improv, and we’re delighted to comply. Capital City Improv is a Maine-based troupe with a great reputation. It promises to be a fun night of laughs and surprises,” said Susan Hodder, The Waldo’s executive director. “Our comfortable theater is a great place to spend a summer evening on the Midcoast. The beverages will be chilled, and the comedy red hot!”
Adult tickets are available online for $25 in advance, $30 the day of the event. Youth tickets are $15 in advance, $20 the day of the event. Tickets: thewaldotheatre.org.
