Alna nominations open
Alna First Selectman Ed Pentaleri and Road Commissioner Jeff Verney told Wiscasset Newspaper they will run for re-election. Nomination papers were to become available at the town office Dec. 13, according to a town email.
The public notice in the email stated the first selectman seat up for election in March is for two years; road commissioner, one; and a seat on Sheepscot Valley Regional School Unit’s board, three years.
The notice said at least 25, but no more than 100, signatures of registered Alna voters are required on nomination papers; the deadline for filing is Monday, Jan. 22; the town office will be open that day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The town clerk’s office hours are typicallyTuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m; and Friday, from 8 a.m. to noon.
