Feed Our Scholars (FOS) holds a paint party
Friday, Feb. 9, Feed Our Scholars (FOS) threw a party, a paint party. It was an evening of lighthearted fun. Under the supportive direction of Nicole White of Artful Nights Maine, participants painted vases with strawberries, flowers and vines. Midway through, all took a break to boost their creative juices with ice cream sundaes doused with all sorts of candies, fruits, whipped cream, and homemade sauces. There wasn’t a grumpy face in the room.
The event was a fundraiser to support the Feed Our Scholars dual initiatives of weekend bags of food for Wiscasset Elementary School students living in food insecure households, and Set For Success that provides Wiscasset schools’ teacher-requested supplies no matter the ability to pay for beginning the new school year. Last year, the group provided supplies for elementary and middle school students. This year, the goal is to include all students attending Wiscasset’s schools, Pre-K to Grade 12.
Whether families can afford to purchase their children’s supplies or not, FOS Set For Success encourages people to attend the great celebration in August at the Wiscasset Community Center.
