Write-in surpasses Pentaleri for Alna selectman; voters go with Trask for road commissioner
Alna First Selectman Ed Pentaleri’s name was the only one on the ballot for that seat, but in results the town released Friday night following the day’s elections, he got 108 votes, and write-in Nicholas Johnston got 114.
Pentaleri was not the only incumbent to lose a reelection bid. Road Commissioner Jeffrey Verney got 108 votes, and his challenger on the ballot, fire chief and past road commissioner Michael Trask, got 138.
Residents kept Shelby Biddy on Sheepscot Valley Regional School Unit’s board, with 217 votes; there were six “scattered” write-ins, according to the results sheet Town Clerk Sarah Perkins signed.
The open part of town meeting is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the fire station. A weather-related town email Friday afternoon stated: “The town's plow contractor, Mike Jewett, has committed to staying ahead of the snow to keep the roads and the parking areas at the fire department and the town office clear.
