Chocolate Church presents favorite shows offsite
The Chocolate Church Arts Center will add concerts and plays offsite to the second half of the center’s current season. Performances at different venues will complement the schedule that has already been planned at the Arts Center.
“Bringing quality productions into different venues throughout the community is building on our strength as a community arts center,” Executive Director Jennifer DeChant said. “The Chocolate Church has a 30 year reputation of producing quality shows so now we are diversifying with venues that intersect with the community in different ways.”
This year the traditional favorite Schooner Fare concert is being staged at the Montgomery Theater of Morse High School, located at 826 High Street, Bath, on January 25, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $22 advance, $25 door.
On February 14 at 7:30 p.m., the emotionally charged play “Love Letters” by Pulitzer Prize winner A.R. Gurney will be performed at the Cosmopolitan Club at 894 Washington Street in Bath. Actors Thom Watson and Suzanne Rankin reprise their roles in this beloved Valentine’s Day tradition in the parlor of the Cosmopolitan Club, a particularly romantic setting. Tickets are $15 individual, $25 for couples.
“For years both of these shows have traditionally entertained audiences, this year we are pleased to offer a new theatrical dynamic by producing them in different venues,” DeChant said.
All ticket sales remain centralized through online www.chocolatechurcharts.org or by calling the Chocolate Church box office 207-442-8455. The Chocolate Church Arts Center is located at 804 Washington Street in Bath.
