‘Scary Larry’ book sales will benefit shelter
Author and illustrator Coreysha Stone will be promoting her book "Scary Larry" with all proceeds of book sales to benefit the Lincoln County Animal Shelter.
"Scary Larry" is a great tool for caregivers and educators in promoting social skills development. Although this story is about a cat, the message is one of self preservation, which can apply to many situations for a variety of young people who struggle in social settings. It is important to provide children and youth with opportunities to develop skills that help them stay safe and understand the world around them.
Stone will be visiting the Skidompha Library on Tuesday, April 22 during the Early Readers story time, 10-11 a.m., the Wiscasset Library on Wednesday, April 23 for story hour, 10-11 a.m., and The Animal House Saturday, April 26 in Damariscotta, 10 a.m. to noon. The events include a reading of Stone's book to be followed with a hands on activity/craft.
Signed copies of Stone's books will be available with all proceeds from book sales during the promotional events to be donated to the LCAS. On Saturday a LCAS representative will be available with information and a box for donations of pet food and blankets.
