Lincoln Festival Chorus prepares for August performances
The Lincoln Festival choristers got off to a rollicking start in their first rehearsal of Carl Orrf’s “Carmina Burana,” under the baton of Bowdoin’s Anthony Antolini with Sean Fleming at the keyboard on June 16.
This year there is special excitement and anticipation as we look forward to having Suzanne Nance with us to sing the challenging soprano solo. Nance became well-known to music lovers in Maine during her years as Maine Public Radio's classical music editor. She has been featured on many PBS and NPR programs. Last year, she moved to Chicago where she is successfully pursuing her career in opera.
David Myers, of Waldoboro, has an amazing tenor and baritone voice range and will perform the male solos.
There will also be a children’s chorus.
There is still time for anyone who enjoys choral singing to join us and we encourage new members to sign up. No auditions are required.
Rehearsals are every Monday from 7 to 9:15 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor. Interested singers may sign up at evening rehearsal or by contacting Lincoln Festival Chorus for more information at 207-633-3913.
