Chocolate Church presents Summer Saturday Concert Series
Summers in Bath just became more melodic with the Summer Saturday Concert Series presented by the Chocolate Church Arts Center. The concert series begins at 6 p.m. on July 12 with the folk-rock trio, Truth About Daisies. For eight consecutive Saturdays through August 30, the Bath waterfront will be the stage for a variety of musicians each with their own style.
“This concert series will become a destination evening for guests to come to Bath for an early dinner then enjoy quality entertainment by the river,” Chocolate Church Executive Director Jennifer DeChant said.
According to DeChant, these concerts are offered at no cost due to cooperation with the city of Bath and other sponsors, such as Beale Street Barbeque, Sebasco Estates, the Hyde School and Mae’s Café.
The Summer Saturday Concert series begins with Truth About Daisies that is comprised of songwriters Sheila McKinley and Doug Swift, as well as the beautiful harmonies and bass riffs of Ronda Dale. The band thrives on vocal harmonization and a wide palette of songwriting, ranging from folk to reggae, ballads to rock jams.
All concerts begin at 6 p.m. and the summer concert line up includes: Mehuman Jonson Trio on July 19; An Evening with the Saltwater Hillbilly on July 26; Cilantro on August 2; Hollow Body Eclectic on August 9; Married with Chitlins on August 16; Lauren Crosby & Friends on August 23; and the series concludes with Love to Burn on August 30.
This is the first off-site concert series presented by The Chocolate Church Arts Center, founded in 1977 with a dual mission of presenting graphic, visual and performing arts to Midcoast Maine while preserving the former Congregational Church built in 1847.
