Lincoln County begins storm recovery
From midnight Saturday night through 8 p.m. Sunday night, Lincoln County Communications Center received at least 330 calls; no one was injured in the motor vehicle accidents and other incidents, including a tree reported as having landed on a house on Wiscasset’s Old Bath Road, communications supervisor Joe Westrich said Monday.
Westrich praised all area fire, law enforcement and other emergency workers for their response to the onslaught of calls under Sunday’s difficult conditions. The peak of the storm and the calls ran from about 9 a.m. Sunday through early evening, he said. “Everyone did an awesome job.”
As more than half of Central Maine Power’s customers in Lincoln County remained without power Monday, several warming centers were open, Westrich said: Those include the Edgecomb, Bremen and Waldoboro fire stations and the Baptist Church on Mills Road in Newcastle.
CMP’s latest outage total for Lincoln County stood at 19.484 customers out as of 10:58 a.m. Monday.
Updates to follow as cleanup and power restoration progress.
