Pair arrested at Damariscotta gas station on felony drug charges
A pair of women have been arrested and charged with crimes alleging they possessed Oxycodone, a prescription painkiller.
According to court documents, Nichole Brackett, 29, of Newcastle and Courtney Flint, 21, of Nobleboro were arrested Jan. 27 and each charged with felony drug possession charges.
Brackett was reportedly observed by Sgt. Jason Warlick of the Damariscotta Police Department in the driver's seat of a Jeep at Mr. Mike's gas station in Damariscotta.
Warlick wrote in his police report that he knew Brackett had bail conditions that included random searches and tests without suspicion.
Brackett has been arrested by the Damariscotta Police Department before; most recently she was charged with Class D burglary of a car in September 2014.
When Warlick searched her person, he allegedly found a small, white plastic container in an inside coat pocket.
According to Warlick, the jacket contained three white pills and half of a blue pill. After the pills were submitted to poison control, it came back that the white pills were reportedly Oxycodone.
Brackett was arrested shortly thereafter and charged with unlawful possession of a Schedule W drug and violation of conditions of release. She was held on $500 cash bail and has a Feb. 26 Lincoln County Superior Court date.
According to a statement from Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Jared Mitkus, he arrested Flint, who was also at Mr. Mike’s at the same time as Brackett, on a warrant from Knox County for failure to pay a fine. Flint allegedly consented to a search of her purse where Mitkus allegedly found a “partial Oxycodone and one needle.”
After being arrested, Flint reportedly told Mtkus that she was on probation with conditions of search and test, which prompted Mitkus to call Parole and Probation Officer Tony Prest who reportedly requested a drug test.
Flint's test reportedly returned positive for “Oxycodone, multiple opiates and Suboxone” and Flint only had a prescription for the Suboxone, according to the affidavit.
For the alleged possession, Flint was charged with a Class C crime, unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs, which is punishable by up to five years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
She was held on $1,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear Feb. 26 in Lincoln County Superior Court.
