Two Wiscasset men arrested
On Tuesday, Oct. 23, the Wiscasset Police Department arrested Michael Connors, 31, and Kevin Delong, 33, both of Wiscasset on charges of theft by unauthorized taking and burglary. Both men were taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail and held on $2,500 cash bail.
The two suspects are alleged to have taken 14 bottles of alcohol and cash valued at nearly $1,000, according to Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline.
The Wiscasset Police Department responded to a report of a burglary at the Taste of the Orient Restaurant located on Route 1 in Wiscasset October 20. It appeared the restaurant had been burglarized some time prior to being reported.
According to a press release from the Wiscasset Police Department, management of the restaurant attempted to determine the source of the burglary in the time prior to reporting the crime.
According to the press release, following an investigation conducted by Officer Mark Walsh, it was determined the two suspects had broken into the restaurant.
Connors and Delong were interviewed by the Wiscasset Police Department with the assistance of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department before being transported at the Two Bridges Regional Jail pending bail.
Both Connors and Delong were bailed out by friends immediately.
