Man allegedly attacks teen
A 22-year-old man has been charged with aggravated felony assault after he allegedly repeatedly attacked his girlfriend.
Lucas Morse, 22, of Wiscasset was arrested March 18 and charged with Class B aggravated assault and Class D domestic violence assault after he reportedly attacked his girlfriend twice in one day.
Reports from both the Waldoboro Police Department (where the second alleged assault occurred), and the Wiscasset Police Department, where the first alleged assault happened, claim that Morse reportedly attacked a teenager twice on March 17.
The first alleged assault happened in Wiscasset, according to Waldoboro Police Officer Larry Hesseltine's report.
Hesseltine wrote that Morse allegedly pulled the teenager by the legs off a bed, and down the stairs at Morse's Wiscasset residence. Morse then allegedly picked the teenager up in a “bear hug” and reportedly smashed her head into the doorway, which caused an injury to the teen's eye.
The attack reportedly continued at a family member's house in Waldoboro, when Morse reportedly grabbed the victim by the throat. At one point the victim reportedly claimed that she couldn't breathe, and had to breathe through her nose. Morse then allegedly slammed the victim on the ground, which reportedly caused an injury to her other eye.
According to Hesseltine’s report, the victim allegedly had bruises on her torso and arms and her pants were ripped.
The fight reportedly started because the victim had Morse's car keys and refused to give them to him; when Morse allegedly drove away he was picked up by the Wiscasset Police Department and sent to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
Morse was held on $10,000 cash bail was ordered to have no contact with the victim, and will have to report three times a week to the Wiscasset Police Department. He is scheduled to appear in court April 27 in Wiscasset.
Class B crimes are punishable by up to 10 years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines. Class D crimes are misdemeanors and are punishable by up to 364 days in jail and up to a $2,000 fine.
