Bremen woman pleads guilty to drug, alcohol charges
A woman who sold drugs to a teenager in 2014, then was arrested with a blood alcohol level three times the legal driving limit in 2015 has been sentenced to jail.
Chassedy Foster, 33, of Bremen, pleaded guilty May 18 in Lincoln County Superior Court to felony drug charges and to a misdemeanor charge after she was arrested earlier this year in Damariscotta.
Foster pleaded guilty to one count of Class C aggravated furnishing of illegal drugs and was sentenced to three years in prison with all but three months suspended. She will also be on probation for two years and will have to enroll in an out-patient substance abuse program, and will pay a $400 fine.
Foster was originally charged with Class B aggravated unlawful furnishing of drugs after she sold Klonopin and marijuana to a minor in 2014 in Bremen. Eventually, the charges were down graded to two Class C charges — one charge each for the Klonopin and marijuana. As part of her plea deal, one charge was dropped.
Foster also pleaded guilty to one count of violating the conditions of her release, for which she will serve 10 days in jail.
That charge stemmed from a Feb. 18 incident in Damariscotta.
Damariscotta Police Officer Erick Halpin responded to a Church Street residence where Foster was reportedly refusing to leave. According to Halpin's report, he smelled alcohol on Foster's breath and Foster reportedly admitted to drinking. As part of her bail conditions for the previous drug furnishing charges, Foster was court-ordered to neither use nor possess alcohol or drugs.
When she was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, Foster was tested and reportedly found to have a .29 blood alcohol content (BAC). Foster was sent to Miles Memorial Hospital first, before being cleared and sent back to Two Bridges.
