It’s 76 trombones with MSMT’s ‘The Music Man’
Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT) presents Meredith Willson’s beloved all-American classic “The Music Man.” This six-time Tony Award-winning musical has been entertaining audiences since 1957. “The Music Man” runs July 15-Aug. 1.
The show follows fast-talking traveling salesman Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize — despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef!
His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian. You will laugh until your sides hurt and cheer for the amazing dance sequences.
This family-friendly classic, based on the story by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey, stars Curt Dale Clark as Harold Hill, David Girolmo as Mayor Shinn, Lauren Blackman as Marian Paroo, Lily Ramras as Amaryllis, Andrew Lyndaker as Winthrop, Charis Leos as Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn, Cary Michelle Miller as Ethel Toffelmeir, Paul Aguirre as Ewart Dunlop, Steve Gagliastro as Jacey Squires, April Woodall as Mrs. Paroo, Peter McClung as Olin Britt, John H. Thyen as Oliver Hix, Spencer Clark as Tommy Djilas, John R.
