Alleged camper theft leads to felony charge
A Dresden woman has been charged with felony burglary after she allegedly broke into a camper, left behind a note and stole $180.
Jennifer Blomquist, 41, of Dresden was arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office after she allegedly broke into a Dresden man's camper. For the alleged break-in and theft, Blomquist was charged with a felony crime.
According to the arrest report, on June 26, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Dennison was called to investigate a report of a possible break in at a camper on Gardiner Road in Dresden.
Dennison spoke with the complainant who said that someone stayed in a camper for a while and stole $180. Dennison processed the scene and the complainant supplied Dennison with a job application from a local business. Dennison's report indicated that the handwriting on the job application was the same as a note left behind at the camper.
After checking with several people, Dennison was told that the handwriting allegedly belonged to Blomquist, who was then arrested and charged with one count of Class C burglary and one count of Class E theft. Class C crimes are felonies and are punishable by up to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine while Class E crimes are misdemeanors and punish by six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Blomquist was held on $500 unsecured bail and was court ordered to have no contact with the complainant and to not go near the camper again. She will have a court date Aug. 24 at the Lincoln County Courthouse.
