Talent from 207: Ghost of Paul Revere kicks off Midcoast music fest
Built for hay, but made for music, the Darrows Barn at DRA Round Top Farm, Business Route 1, in Damariscotta, will once again rock with the state’s best talent over three evenings in July, starting Thursday, July 16, with Anna Lombard and The Ghost of Paul Revere.
Music, beer, food and wine, along with Damariscotta River oysters will round out each evening. A different local pub will offer a la carte meals and snacks along with refreshments, including Oxbow Beer at all shows.
Announcing their lineup for their summer Midcoast Music Fest, the Damariscotta River Association (DRA) noted that festival favorites would be joined by hot Maine acts new to the series as well.
Reggae returns to DRA’s long-running event this year, with a reggae-salsa dance party on July 18 headlined by Stream Reggae. The esteemed Primo Cubano will open, along with award-winning local singer-songwriter Heather Hardy, a crowd favorite at last year’s festival. Chairs will be cast aside to make more space for dancing.
The festival wraps with a Mallett double header. Iconic Maine singer-songwriter David Mallett will perform, followed by his sons and their fellow performers, The Mallett Brothers Band.
Generous sponsorships from local businesses, including Festival Sponsors Renys, Mexicali Blues and Oxbow Brewing, allow DRA to keep ticket prices reasonable while also raising funds for the organization’s education and conservation programs for the community like trails, access to the shore, islands, community gardens, skating rink, summer camps and school programs.
Festival passes, including all three shows, are offered in advance for just $55. Advance tickets for Ghost and Stream are $20 and advance for Malletts are $30. Add $5 for tickets purchased at the door. Student tickets are available as well. Advance tickets may be purchased up until a day before each show at Maine Coast Bookshop or DRA, or as long as they last, online at midcoastmusicfest.com. Please visit the website, email dra@damariscottariver.org or call 207-563-1393 for more information. Doors open at 6 p.m. for all shows, with food and drinks available right away. Music starts at about 6:30 p.m. and generally runs until at least 9:30 p.m.
