The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has charged a Warren man with two counts of unlawful trafficking in marijuana. 

Fifty-six-year-old Kenneth Gray was summoned by drug agents Wednesday evening, July 15.

MDEA agents got involved with their investigation of Gray after he was observed last month selling marijuana to two men in Waldoboro by the Maine Warden Service. The wardens then referred the case to MDEA.  Drug agents learned that Gray was involved as a registered primary caregiver under the Maine Medical Use of Marijuana Program.  

When agents arrived at Gray's residence in Warren Wednesday they located two warehouses converted to marijuana growing facilities. Gray acknowledged being a primary caregiver with five qualified patients to grow medical marijuana. Agents however determined that the growing facilities were not in compliance with a number the state's requirements for being a caregiver.

Agents seized 212 marijuana plants, and over 8 pounds of processed marijuana. The approximate street value of the processed marijuana is $20,000.

Gray was summonsed in connection with the marijuana sales incident in Waldoboro and for the violations agents found at his facility yesterday. His court date will be September 14 at the Rockland Unified Court. 

Assisting agents were deputies of the Knox County Sheriff's Department.
