Whitefield man faces exploitation charge

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 9 arrested William Curran, 42, at his home in Whitefield, on a charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Since the victim was under the age of 12 at the time of the alleged offense, this is a Class A felony charge.
The arrest was part of a joint investigation with the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit. In April, the Computer Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at Curran’s residence; digital media was seized.
After reviewing the information the Computer Crimes Unit found, the sheriff’s office on Nov. 9 executed a second search warrant at Curran’s residence on Pittston Road in Whitefield.
Curran was arrested later that day and taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. He was being held on $100,000 cash bail.
