Presentation on permaculture
The Midcoast Green Collaborative, in collaboration with Coastal Senior College, invites you to “An Introduction to Permaculture,” a free public presentation by Topher Belknap. The talk will be held at the Lincoln County Communications Center (next to court house), Route 1, Wiscasset on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m.
Mr. Belknap is a founding member of the Midcoast Green Collaborative, long committed to helping home owners live sustainably, with particular emphasis on food and energy. After investigating and rejecting as inadequate all commercially available energy audit software, he wrote his own for the Collaborative, and keeps improving it based on new information gathered from the field. He has conducted more than 400 energy audits in the area since 2006. He is also an inventor. Among his inventions is an indoor storm window insert, which, because of its high comfort impact, efficiency and low cost has become popular across the region and, via the Internet, around the country and worldwide.
A graduate of Bowdoin College in math and computer science, Mr. Belknap has completed formal course work in permaculture after years of practice and experimentation. His website is at www.greenfret.com
