Young Composer's Competition entry deadline February 5
The deadline for submitting an original musical composition to the Bagaduce Music Lending Library’s 20th annual Young Composers’ Competition is Friday, Feb. 5.
The competition is open to all musical styles from classical to rock and anything in between. Music may be written for solo instrument/voice or ensembles.
All students living in Maine are encouraged to submit an entry.
Entries are being accepted in two age groups: Category I: Age 13 and younger and Category II: Age 14 through high school.
Winners in each category receive prize money: first prize, $200; second, $125; and third $75. Everyone receives written comments about their composition from a panel of three expert judges. A festival to celebration our 2016 competition will be held in Blue Hill on April 16 where all contestants will perform their composition.
