First National Bank donates to local food pantries
First National Bank recently announced that it has made donations totaling $14,000 to seventeen food banks in bank’s market area. “First National Bank is grateful for the critical services that our food banks provide to our neighbors in need,” remarked Tony C. McKim, President and CEO. “As a Maine community bank, it is our goal to respond to the needs of these vital organizations that serve and help these families put food on the table.”
Wiscasset Food Pantry, located at the Church of the Nazarene, was a recipient of these funds. Senior Pastor Wally Staples says,”This donation will help us serve not only families in Wiscasset, but all of Maine.” The pantry is currently sprucing up their space in the church.
Beth Grasser, Program Coordinator, says,”Last year we served 7,000 families and expect that number to grow in 2016.” The pantry is open Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm and Sundays from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. For more information, please call 207-882-9088.
