Hearts Ever Young prepares to hit the stage
Celebrating seven years of performing, Hearts Ever Young will take center stage at Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta, with this year's production of, “A Toast to Broadway.” The popular cast will sing and dance to familiar songs from Broadway musicals.
Starting in 2010, as a non-profit, charitable organization, Hearts Ever Young has gathered a troupe of remarkable, seasoned area residents ranging in age from nearly 65 to 95 and above – both with and without previous theater experience. With the generous contributions of Underwriters, Sponsors, and Donors, the H.E.Y. troupe has performed original designed productions for the community each year since, proving “you're never too old,” and “age doesn't matter.”
For this June 2016 production, H.E.Y. has been rehearsing weekly since October at the Assembly of God Church in Damariscotta. Under the direction of popular Music Director Sean Fleming and his accompanying band, The H.E.Y. Makers, and cast musicians, the chorus of over 45 participants, soloists, duets, and ensembles will sing and dance to a variety of favorites from favorites such as “South Pacific,” “The Lion King,” “42nd Street,” “Oklahoma” and so much more.
A tap routine to “Tea for Two,” as well as other lively dances, are sure to be show stoppers. Comedy skits, and the special pizazz of local talented actor, Nick Azzaretti, as master of ceremonies, will make, “A Toast to Broadway,” a real crowd pleaser.
