Motorcycles collide in Edgecomb
Motorcycles a husband and wife from New York state were riding collided on Edgecomb’s Route One June 22, Major Ken Mason, chief deputy for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, said Tuesday.
The accident, reported at 10:11 a.m., happened when Richard Hourigan, 65, of Ticonderoga, New York, was operating a 2006 Honda southbound and he slowed to make a left turn onto Eddy Road; his wife Maletta Hourigan, 54, was operating a motorcycle behind the Honda, Mason continued. “She ran right into the back of it.”
Mason said Maletta Hourigan had a scraped knee; he said her husband had injuries and was taken to LincolnHealth’s Miles Campus in Damariscotta. A hospital spokesman found no record of Hourigan coming there following the accident.
